Kuranda Butterfly Sanctuary wedding | Elopement wedding Cairns | Cairns wedding photographer
Ellise & Phil had a small elopement wedding at the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary in Kuranda – with 5 of their nearest & dearest along to share the ceremony with them. A few others had to join from the UK via Zoom – but it was still lovely that they were able to witness the ceremony in real time.
This was the first time I’d visited the butterfly sanctuary – what a cool place! I loved that a couple of butterflies came along to hover around them throughout the ceremony… and then a butterfly release after they exchanged rings was super lovely too.
After a few photos around the aviary, we headed down to the original Kuranda Markets for a few photos – one of my fav spots in Kuranda village, I love how cute and colourful everything is!
As the afternoon light faded, we raced out to one final spot – and Ellise & Phil were absolute champions when I requested that they climb down a (fairly steep and treacherous) bank to get amongst the trees at the bottom. It was worthwhile though, I love the afternoon sun peeking through in the background, and the orange flowers nestled in front.
Thanks for inviting me along to share a part in your beautiful, intimate wedding day!
