Mount Mulligan Lodge wedding photos | Elopement wedding North Queensland

 

If you are looking for an epic spot for your elopement wedding – this gem in Far North Queensland might be the perfect solution. Mount Mulligan Lodge is nestled near the top of Mount Mulligan, and features some of the most stunning bush scenery you could ever hope for.

I was lucky enough to be there to capture Amy & Troy’s wedding day – we headed up near the sunset bar to make the most of the delicious late afternoon sunlight, and picked a ceremony spot nestled in the grass, looking out over the valley below.

They had their dog along for the ceremony, along with one of their friends as a witness. After they made things official, we headed off for a few photos – exploring the cool abandoned mining buildings, and capping things off with a glorious sunset on the hilltop.

Heading back down to the luxe resort, we wrapped things up with a cool reflection shot in the swimming pool … after which, I had a look up at the skies. I had a feeling that if we gave it another hour or so, the stars might make an appearance. So Amy & Troy took a break and chilled out for a while, and I grabbed a drink from the bar & uploaded some images to my laptop. Sure enough, an hour later, the Milky Way was rising over the countryside – so we drove back up the hill to the same spot they were married in earlier that afternoon. We scored some pretty epic night sky photos – capping off what was a perfect elopement wedding day.
