Aaron and Mel are high-school sweethearts – and now they’re planning their wedding!
It was awesome to catch up with them for an engagement photo shoot – where we headed down to the Cairns Botanic Gardens to kick off, and then wrapped up with a pretty incredible sunset in town.
If you’re planning to get married, doing an engagement shoot can be a great idea.
Firstly, it’s a good way to check out a wedding photographer – kinda a ‘trial run’ to see how they work.
Second, it helps you get relaxed and comfortable with the whole process of having your photos taken. Hopefully, it ends up being a fun & enjoyable process – and means that on the wedding day, there’s totally nothing to stress about.
And finally – you get some rad photos of yourselves as a bonus!
As a wedding photographer, engagement shoots are pretty much my ‘playtime’. It’s where I can take things slow and trial new ideas, techniques, and locations that you just don’t want to risk on a wedding day. Plus it’s nice having no time limits – we’re not keeping the guests waiting or anything like that. Purely a fun photoshoot for the sake of fun photos!
So without further ado – here’s a little sneak peek of Mel & Aaron’s Cairns engagement photo shoot. Enjoy!
