When I first met Harm & Willem, they described their wedding day as being about great food, great wine, and enjoying their amazing guests company.
So picking a wedding venue like NuNu in Palm Cove is a perfect option – a stunning setting with some of the absolute best food in Tropical North Queensland.

Because they were both getting ready in the same resort complex at the Alamanda Palm Cove, I was able to easily float between the two rooms and catch some of the leadup to the wedding. Harm & Willem met downstairs in the Ulysses lounge, before walking over to the Alamanda Chapel and into their ceremony – hand in hand.

Willem’s parents were unable to travel overseas to attend the day – but with the wonders of modern technology, they were right there with them the whole ceremony – see if you can spot them in the photos below!

After a beautiful, emotional wedding ceremony, we headed down to the beach for a few photos with the ‘A-team’ and then just Harm & Willem for a few wedding photos by themselves.

Then it was back to NuNu for the food & wine extravaganza that was their wedding reception. Highlights were a delicious oyster bar on the deck (complete with pink hibiscus ice), and then a hilarious Glee-inspired musical speech by Willem – complete with lip syncing to a range of pop songs. So so good!

After their incredible meal, it was out onto the deck for the first dance – and a cake made entirely from wheels of cheese (my favourite kind of cake!).

We have two little mottos that we have built our wedding photography style on. The first is “A wedding is a party, not a performance” .. and the second is “Pose Less. Party more”. These guys were the perfect embodiment of our style – a few nice epic shots to really capture the beauty of the Palm Cove landscape – but mainly a focus on telling a good story, and capturing an amazing party. For me – that really does sum up what I love about weddings.

This is just a tiny taster of how the day unfolded – enjoy.
