There’s something about the beach in a storm that is just … perfect.
The mist hanging over the sea, the odd shower of rain blasting up the coast – there is just something so powerful, mysterious, and moody about a stormy sea & brooding skies.
Of course – getting epic stormy beach photos requires a little more dedication. You need to be happy to risk getting a bit wet if the rain returns with a vengeance. You need to be happy with the train of your dress dragging through wet sand, grass, and collecting all the debris along the way. Basically – you need to be badass.
Gemma and Chris tick all the boxes. Up visiting Palm Cove from their home base in NSW, along with a bunch of their nearest & dearest friends and family – these guys were up for anything. There was one point during the reception where I tentatively approached them like … heeeyyyyy guyyyyysssss…. it’s raining outside… and I have a cool idea for a rain photo… wanna come out and play? And they were totally keen (despite already having been caught in the rain plenty of times earlier in the day).
One of my favourite moments was rocking their first dance on the deck at Nunu Restaurant, out in the rain, and all the guests joining in for a rain dance party.
The result? Some pretty rad wedding photos.
This is just a little sneak preview of how they’re looking … enjoy!
