Rain. ☔️☔️☔️

It’s one of those things that people planning a wedding (particularly an outdoor wedding) are always worried about.

In my 14 years photographing weddings (eeek, that makes me feel so old) and over 600 wedding days.. I’ve noticed one major thing about rain on your wedding day.
It’s not what happens – it’s how you deal with it.

Harley & Sean were the absolute perfect example of how to rock your wedding day, no matter what.

Their ceremony was at Mulgrave Gardens, a super cute spot tucked in the Little Mulgrave Valley, near Goldsborough.

During the morning getting ready, there were a few anxious checks out the window as the storm clouds rolled across the sky and every now and again, a heavy downpour would catch our attention. Luckily though, once the guests arrived at the venue, the rain eased off – and the ceremony took place without anyone getting wet!

We can’t quite say the same for their photos with the bridal party afterwards though! The skies opened, and we tucked underneath some nearby trees for shelter. Harley, Sean, and their bridal party were super happy to just embrace the weather regardless – and we got some stunning shots by the river.
Turns out that cars & bikes can still get a decent burnout going on wet roads too!! 😂🔥

Their reception was on private property nearby – and luckily Sean & Harley’s dad had been out a couple of days beforehand putting up some marquee tents to provide shelter for everyone. The band kicked off, and the reception began with Harley & Sean doing their first dance in the rain & loving every moment!

There is something about dancing in the rain that just reminds me of childhood joy (or in adult terms, zero f#%ks given) – just out there and having an awesome time no matter what nature serves up.

Mojo food truck was there serving up epic burgers, lamb cutlets, and general deliciousness all night – and the boys capped things off with some cigars.
All up – it was a freakin amazing party – and a day that I’m stoked to have been a part of.
