Tablelands wedding photographer – Cairns wedding photos

Things are starting to warm up in Cairns, as the wedding season wraps up for another summer and everyone aims to keep cool & dry!

Lots of enquiries coming through looking for a Tablelands wedding photographer at the moment, looks like a popular wedding option for 2018 🙂

We’re now over in New Zealand gearing up for our summer wedding season here (the busy time of year for us in Auckland is from October through to April – which, conveniently, is also where there aren’t many Cairns weddings to photograph!).

In the interest of keeping things fresh and up to date over in the FNQ part of our business though, we thought we would share a few weddings from your smaller, sister country 🙂

Alex and Jason were married on a farm in the rolling hills of the Waikato region, about 2 hours south of Auckland.

Their initial plan was to have the entire wedding – cermeony, and reception, all on the farm … because it’s a really special place for them – Alex spent her entire life growing up here, exploring this land. Her father went to amazing lengths to ensure that the farm was prepped and looking amazing for their photos (including some special bamboo pruning).

As the wedding drew closer though, the logistics of hosting 150 people on their remote farm proved a bit too much… so instead they were married in their local church, and had the reception at a venue beside the Hamilton Lake.

They still managed to incorporate the farm though – Alex got ready in the house in the morning, and then Jason and the boys arrived for their ‘first look’ moment – plus bridal party photos on the farm. In the days leading up to the wedding, we experienced some pretty terrible weather – which turned farm tracks to mud and threatened to make access really difficult. Alex’s dad came to the rescue – modifying the trailer on the tractor with an umbrella and some comfortable seating … so the bridal party could be ferried around the farm in style!
